What do you use a Bluetooth remote shutter for?

A Bluetooth remote shutter is convenient in various situations. You can use it for taking group photos for example or when you are using a selfie stick. With a Bluetooth remote control, you don't have to awkwardly reach for your phone to turn on the self-timer or start your recording when using a selfie stick. In addition, it is also perfect when you are creating content all by yourself. Set up your phone on a tripod, connect the remote shutter and you're ready to shoot the coolest photos or videos without needing someone else's help. Lastly, a Bluetooth shutter prevents motion blur when you are taking pictures as you no longer have to touch your phone.

How do I connect a Bluetooth remote shutter to my smartphone or tablet?

To connect a Bluetooth remote control to your phone, first turn on the remote control. The remote shutter works on a (supplied) battery. Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone to make a (one-off) connection via Bluetooth on your phone to the shutter (for example 'AB Shutter3') in your device list. Now the remote is connected to your phone. Open your phone's camera app and as soon as you press the button on the remote, your phone will take a photo or start recording video.

How do I properly set my camera settings to use the Bluetooth remote shutter?

It is important that the settings of your camera app on your smartphone are correct. With an Android smartphone or tablet, it is often necessary to adjust this to ensure the Bluetooth remote shutter works properly.

If the volume changes as soon as you press the remote shutter, you should change something in your camera setting. You can go to the settings in your camera app and choose to operate the camera with the remote control instead of the volume.
